Charges for calling non-geographic numbers on EE

This guide explains what it costs to call non‑geographic numbers from your EE pay monthly or pay as you go mobile. Use it to stay in control of what you spend.

Calls to 0800, 0808 and 116 numbers

Calls to 0800, 0808 and 116 numbers are free from your EE mobile or landline.

116 numbers available on EE

  • 116 000 – Hotline for Missing Children
  • 116 111 – Childline
  • 116 123 – Samaritans

Calls to 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers

You'll often see these numbers used for things like:
  • 084 and 087 – banks, utilities, customer helplines, government services and TV voting
  • 09 – premium‑rate services
  • 118 – directory enquiry services

These numbers have two charges:

  • Access charge – this is the bit EE charges you.
  • Service charge – this is set by the organisation you're calling. They must tell you the service charge wherever they advertise their number.

Both charges show separately in the itemised section of your bill. They may not appear next to each other, but this won't affect the amount you pay.

Make savings if you call 084 or 087 numbers regularly

If you're on a pay monthly plan, you can add a monthly 084 and 087 add on to get an allowance of 400 minutes to call 084 and 087 numbers.

Find out how to manage your add ons on the EE add ons and data add ons page.

Calls to 03 numbers

Many organisations use 03 numbers such as 0300, 0344 or 0345 instead of more expensive 08 or 09 numbers.

Calls to 03 numbers (as well as 01 and 02 numbers) come out of your inclusive minutes.
