5G coverage where it matters most

In 2019/20 we’ll be switching 5G sites on in 26 UK cities, we started with the UK’s four capitals as well as Birmingham and Manchester.

And now we’ve started rolling out in Bristol, Coventry and Leicester.

We’ve switched on 5G in more of the UK’s busiest transport spots and popular places to visit. Commuters can now enjoy 5G at these stations:

  • London Waterloo, Liverpool Street, Charing Cross, Highbury, Islington, New Cross Gate Overground, and Shoreditch High Street Overground

And visitors to these popular locations will now be able to connect to 5G:

  • Market Street on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile
  • Cardiff’s St David’s shopping centre and Morgan Arcade
  • London’s Piccadilly Circus, Clapham Common, and Hampton Court Palace gardens 
  • Albert Square, the home of Manchester’s Christmas markets
  • Belfast’s Great Northern Mall and City Hall
  • Birmingham’s historical Victoria Square, the Mailbox and Brindley Place

And, it’s not just about connecting the cities. We’re expanding coverage around the cities to reach busy town's and suburbs. 

In the West Midlands, EE is rolling out coverage around:

New phones capable of connecting to the new 5G network will start appearing throughout 2019, with OnePlus being one of the first phone manufacturers to release a 5G-capable device.
