Use Fast Lane on your EE mobile

This article explains how Fast Lane helps keep your mobile connection running smoothly when the network is busy.

If you have an eligible plan, SIM, device, and 5G+ coverage, Fast Lane works automatically in the background to help move your mobile data up to 5x further in the queue during busy periods.

What Fast Lane does

When the network isn’t busy, everyone gets the same great experience. 

When the network is busy, Fast Lane:

  • reduces the impact of network congestion
  • helps keep your connection running smoothly
  • helps place your data connection up to 5x further up the queue on the network during busy periods

 

What you need to use Fast Lane

To use Fast Lane, you’ll need: 

  • a Full Works Plus plan (launched in August 2026)
  • a 5G+ compatible device
  • a 5G+ SIM (eSIM is the best way to ensure you have one)
    Find out more about changing to an EE eSIM
  • 5G+ coverage in a very busy area

Using an old physical SIM?

If you have a SIM that was activated before 2022, you will need to replace it - we recommend an eSIM.
