Get started with 4GEE WiFi

Find out how to get connected on your pay monthly or pay as you go 4GEE WiFi device, tablet or SIM.

Setting up your 4GEE device

A 4GEE device allows you to share a secure Mobile Broadband internet connection using WiFi. You can connect most WiFi-enabled devices to it (for example PCs, mobile gaming devices, smartphones, tablets).

This device should not be used in a confined space where air flow is limited, for instance inside a jacket pocket or inside a handbag etc.

System requirements

Your 4G WiFi is compatible with devices that support 2.4GHz (802.11 b/g/n) or 5GHz (802.11 a/n/ac) and have a web browser.

To set up your 4GEE device:

  • insert your EE SIM
  • press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power on.

What the lights mean:

No light - your 4G WiFi has entered power-saving mode or the power is off.

Flashing Green - your 4G WiFi is starting up. Wait at least 2 minutes for it to turn aqua. If it stays green, turn your device off and on again. If the light still doesn’t turn aqua, use a paper clip to press your device’s factory reset button.

Flashing Aqua - your 4G WiFi is connecting to the internet. Give it at least one minute to connect. The light will turn aqua when your 4G WiFi is ready to use.

Aqua - your 4G WiFi is connected to the internet.

Orange - your 4G WiFi is disconnected from EE. Try logging in to the 4G WiFi homepage and connecting to EE.

Flashing white - you've received a text message. Log in to the UI to read your text messages.

Red - there's a problem. Using the Power button, turn your 4G WiFi off and on again. If the light still doesn’t turn aqua, use a paper clip to press your router’s factory reset button.

Once you're set up, you'll be able to manage your 4GEE WiFi device and plan online by logging in to EE.
