About WiFi settings and Hub Manager admin password
If you would like to change any settings on your WiFi you will need to use the Hub Manager.
Hub Manager lets you restart your hub, change your WiFi password and test your connection.
When connected to your hub, type 192.168.1.254 in the browser address bar and you’ll see the Hub Manager screen.
You’ll need the admin password from the back of your hub to make changes. If you’ve changed the password and forgotten it, you can still update your hub’s settings by following the instructions in Hub Manager.
The WiFi Settings and Hub Manager Admin password are printed on the settings card that comes with your hub.
If the card is hard to read, you can still access the information using your smartphone:
If you used the EE App to set up your Hub:
- you were prompted to scan the settings card on the back of the hub
- you can now find your WiFi details in your phone’s WiFi settings
If you didn’t use the EE App or need the Admin password:
- remove the settings card from the back of the hub
- open a QR code scanner app (not just your phone’s camera)
- scan the QR code on the inside of the card
The app will display something like:
WIFI:S:<WiFi Name>;T:WPA;P:<WiFi Password>;<Admin Password>
The admin password is only needed if you want to use the Hub Manager.
Error states or what the light on the hub means
Error states are displayed through the light on the front of the Hub. These can also be seen in the EE app, or in the Hub Manager:
- open a web browser on a device in your home that’s connected to the Hub (either WiFi or ethernet)
- go to http://192.168.1.254 to open the Hub Manager
- the Connection Status will detail the status of your Broadband connection
| Colour on the front of the hub | What it means |
| A solid aqua light shows your hub is connected to broadband. | |
| Flashing Orange | A flashing orange light means your hub is connecting to broadband. Give it at least three minutes to connect. The light will turn aqua when your hub is ready. |
| A solid orange light means your hub isn't connected to the internet. | |
A green light means your hub is starting up. Wait at least three minutes for it to turn solid aqua. If it stays green, restart your hub. | |
| No light | If the hub light isn't on, either the power is off, or you've turned the light off. |
| There's a problem somewhere. Restart your hub. | |
| Flashing Blue | When the WPS button on the side of your hub is pressed, the light on your hub will flash blue. This means it's waiting for you to press or select the WPS option or button on your computer or device. |
