A data roaming cap is when you reach your data allowance abroad.

How does it work?

How does it work?

A data roaming cap is when you reach your data allowance abroad.

When in the EU, roaming is inclusive as part of your plan and you can use your phone as you would in the UK.

However, any customer with a data allowance greater than 15GB is subject to a fair use policy cap of 15GB while in the EU.

Max plan customers, who can also use their home allowance across another five countries, are subject to the same policy in both the EU and those five extra countries.

For more information, read our Fair Use Policy (.pdf 226KB)

Good to know

If you’re abroad in a non-EU country, standard roaming charges apply and you may be subject to a data roaming cap
