What devices can I use eSIM with?
The following devices are compatible with eSIM:
- All iOS devices All iPhone 15, 14, 13, 12 & SE Models are compatible with eSIM.
The iPad Pro 3rd generation or later, iPad mini 5th generation or later, iPad Air 3rd generation or later, and iPad 7th generation or later are all eSIM compatible.
The iPad Pro (M4) 13-inch and 11-inch and iPad Air (M2) 13-inch and 11-inch models are eSIM Only. - All Google Pixel devices from Pixel 3 onwards.
- Samsung devices including S20, S21, Z Flip, Fold, Note.
- Oppo devices including N2 Flip, Fine X5 & X5 Pro, Fine X3 Pro.
- The Motorola Razr (2020) is eSIM only.

How do I get an eSIM?
If you’re new to EE and have ordered an eSIM with your pay monthly device directly from us, you’ll either:
- be sent a scannable QR code with your new device, or
- you need to turn on your new device and follow the prompts to install your eSIM
If you’ve ordered an eSIM for a SIM only plan with us, you can download your eSIM by logging in to EE. Follow the instructions in your confirmation email. If you’re using the EE app, make sure you’re using the latest version.
If you're upgrading to a newer iPhone model, you can convert your physical SIM to an eSIM or transfer your eSIM as part of the Quick Start set up on your new iPhone. Both the old and new iPhone will need to be on iOS 15.4 or above.
If you’ve upgraded your EE device and had an eSIM before, you’ll need to log in to EE and order a replacement eSIM to download to your new device.
How do I set up an eSIM?
You will need a WiFi or a mobile data connection to download your eSIM.
If you’ve been sent a paper QR code, scan it and follow the prompts on your device. The information stored in it will allow us to add the eSIM to your device safely and securely.
If you selected an eSIM and haven’t been sent a paper QR code, switch on your new device and follow the onscreen prompts. For more information, select your device type from the list below:

If you are new to EE and ordered an eSIM on a SIM only plan, follow the links in your confirmation email to log in to EE and download your eSIM.

Get a replacement eSIM
If you’re currently using a physical SIM in an eSIM-compatible device and would like to move to an eSIM or need a replacement for some reason, you can order a new or replacement eSIM by:
- login to EE
- calling 150 from your EE phone or 0800 956 6000 from an alternative line
- popping into an EE store with your ID.
Can I transfer my SIM or eSIM to my new phone?
Yes, if you already have a SIM or eSIM with us, there are a couple of ways you can transfer it.
If you're upgrading your iPhone, just turn on your new iPhone and follow the Quick Start prompts on-screen.
You can transfer the eSIM on your current phone onto your new one via the Choose a Data Plan screen in Quick Start.
If you're upgrading to an iPhone 13 or above, you can even convert your physical SIM into an eSIM.

If you’re using another device that is compatible with eSIM you can order a replacement SIM by logging in to EE and choosing an eSIM. Otherwise, pop your current SIM card into your new device.
