About your SIM PIN

On this page, learn what a SIM PIN is, its purpose, and how to set one for added security and peace of mind.

A SIM PIN is a 4-digit code that you can set to protect your SIM and device from unauthorised use in case of being lost or stolen.

By default, it is set to 1111 but we would recommend you set your own PIN as soon as you get your new SIM for your device.

Changing a SIM PIN

To change your SIM PIN:

  • go to our Device Guides
  • select your device
  • select Basic Functions
  • under Security Codes select Turning use of PIN on or off
  • then follow the instructions in the device guide

If you enter the wrong SIM PIN

If you enter an incorrect SIM PIN three times in row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock you SIM, you’ll need to key in your PUK code.

Please note that if you key in the wrong PUK code ten times in a row, your SIM will be blocked permanently, and you will need to order a new SIM.
