What is a SIM PIN?

On this page, we explain what a SIM PIN is, how it works, and how you can easily change or manage it on your device.

A SIM PIN is a vital security feature that helps safeguard your mobile device from unauthorised use if it's lost or stolen.

How do I change my SIM PIN?

The default SIM PIN is 1111. To change this:

  • go to our Device Guides and select your device
  • select Basic Functions
  • under Security Codes select Turning use of PIN on or off
  • then follow the instructions on the device guide

What if I enter the wrong SIM PIN?

If you enter an incorrect SIM PIN three times in row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock you SIM, you’ll need to key in your PUK code.

Please note that if you key in the wrong PUK code ten times in a row, your SIM will be blocked permanently and you will need to order a new SIM.
