My TV box gets hot

If your TV box gets warm, there's no need to worry. This is normal and completely safe.

The box is designed without a cooling fan, so it's normal for it to feel warm while it's being used. As long as it's stored correctly, it won't overheat. It also has a built-in temperature sensor that constantly monitors the temperature. If the box gets too hot, it'll automatically switch to standby mode and stay there until it cools down.

To help keep the box cooler when you're not using it, we recommend turning on SMART Standby Mode:

  1. Press the Home button on your remote, then go to Settings.
  2. Go to Power & Standby.
  3. Select Standby Mode.
  4. Choose SMART (Recommended).

Store your box correctly

To help your TV box stay cool:

  • Remove the protective film from the top of the box.
  • Leave at least 5cm of space above and on either side of the box.
  • Don't place anything on top of the box.
  • Don't put the box on top of other electrical devices.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight.
  • Keep it away from heat sources, such as power packs.
  • Avoid placing it on soft surfaces like cushions, rugs or bedding.
