How to reset your EE TV Box Pro and Mini

If your EE TV box is freezing, or if you’re having a problem with your remote control or accessing TV channels, we recommend using the steps below to reset the TV Box, as this can often resolve issues.

Try a reboot

Before resetting your box, we recommend you trying a reboot first as this may resolve your issue without having to do a full reset.

  1. Turn the EE TV box off
  2. Unplug it from the wall
  3. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Plug it back into the wall
  5. Switch your EE TV box back on

Doing a light reset

This is the best way to reset your TV box and keep your personal settings, as well as any current and scheduled recordings on your EE TV Box Pro.

If you've bought any films on your EE TV box, please allow 24 hours after the reset for your films to reappear.

TV Box Pro
  1. Remove the power cable
  2. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug back in
  3. Press and hold the button on the right-hand side of the TV Box
  4. While holding the button in, press and hold the power button at the same time, until the EE logo appears
  5. Release both buttons a few seconds after the EE logo appears on the TV screen
  6. A Maintenance Menu will show, choose the factory reset option, which keeps your recordings.

TV Box Mini

  1. Remove the power cable 
  2. Press and hold front panel button
  3. At the same time, replace the power cable
  4. Keep front panel button held until maintenance mode appears.
  5. Release front panel button and select the factory reset option.

Doing a full reset

Need to know

A full reset will completely reset your box, meaning all personal settings will be wiped and you'll be logged out of your apps. For the EE TV Box Pro, it will also delete any current and scheduled recordings.

  1. Press the Home button on your remote
  2. From the main menu, scroll along and select Settings
  3. In the Settings menu, scroll down to Information & Reset and select Factory Reset
  4. You'll see a warning screen: Remember all of your recordings and personal data will be deleted
  5. If you want to continue, just enter the numbers shown on the screen using your remote. The full reset will take a few minutes
  6. Once done, you'll see the first-time set-up screens. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
