Point the remote at the TV box
Make sure your remote is pointed directly at the TV box and not the TV itself. If your TV box is in a closed cabinet, try opening the door to make it easier for your remote to connect with the TV box.
Make sure you are using the right remote if you have multiple boxes. The remotes will be paired to their individual box and will not work on both at same time.
Check your battery level
If the light on your remote does not flash then your batteries need replacing.
To check your remote's battery level:
- Select the Home button on the remote.
- Go to settings (cog in the top-right).
- Find the 'connected devices' option and select remote.
Reset your remote
The remote control we provide for the EE TV Box Pro and TV Box Mini pairs to the TV box using Bluetooth.
Reset remote
Follow these steps if you need to reset your remote:
- Press the Home and number 9 button at the same time.
- Hold down the buttons until the LED around the EE icon flashes purple 3 times.
Pair your remote
Follow these steps to pair your remote:
- Press the Home and number 7 button at the same time.
- Hold down the buttons until the LED around the EE icon flashes purple 3 times.
Restart your TV box
If the light on your remote does flash but your remote still isn’t working, this means the issue is probably with your TV box and not the remote itself. Restart the TV box by switching off at the mains and waiting 30 seconds before switching back on.
Reduce other signals affecting your remote
Your remote’s signal can be affected by settings on your TV, such as energy saving mode and screen dimming. See your TV user guide for instructions on how to turn them off.
