What do I need to get Extra Box?
- Fibre broadband with speeds of 40Mbps or higher
- An Extra Box subscription
- Two TV boxes (either a TV Box Pro or TV Box Edge), both connected to your Hub by WiFi or Ethernet
Connectivity
The TV Box Pro and TV Box Edge support WiFi and Ethernet connections. For the best experience, use the Ethernet cable included with your TV box. If you have weak WiFi coverage, Complete WiFi or WiFi Extenders may help.
Keep your TV box as close to your Hub as possible. Streaming on two boxes at the same time uses more broadband capacity and may occasionally cause pixilation, failed recordings or an IPC6023 error.
If this happens:
- Switch from an HD channel to the standard definition version
- Use an Ethernet connection instead of Powerline Adapters where possible
- If you see IPC6023, get more help with IPC errors
For the best picture quality, use the HDMI cable included with your TV box.
Account and security
Extra Box is available on a rolling monthly contract. If you cancel, you'll continue to be charged until your next billing date. You'll also need to return your Extra Box to avoid additional charges.
If you have the HD Add-On, you can watch HD channels on both boxes. EE TV Store purchases can be watched on either box, but only on one box at a time.
Recordings can only be watched on the TV box they were recorded on.
Your parental control PIN is set separately on each box, but you can use the same PIN on both.
