Set up your EE Broadband Hub

Set up your EE Hub with the EE app

The quickest way to set up your EE Smart Hub is by following the instructions in the EE app.

  • If you're an Apple user, download from the App Store
  • if you're on Android, download from Google Play

Need to know

Your hub might need to update its software. It usually takes around 20 minutes, but it can sometimes take up to 1 hour. Don’t restart your hub until the update is complete.

If you need help setting up one of our older hubs, or if you'd prefer to set up without the app, follow the steps below.

To set up Full Fibre with your Smart Hub Pro:

  1. Plug the white cable with red ends into the socket marked WAN on the back of the hub.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into the Openreach modem's Port 1/LAN1 port.
  3. Plug the power cable into the back of your hub.
  4. Connect your hub to a power socket.
  5. Push the hub’s Power button. When the light on the front turns green, your hub is on.
  6. Wait about 3 minutes for the light in the middle of the hub to turn solid aqua. Your hub is now ready.

Connect your devices

To connect your devices to the internet, for example a computer, your phone or a tablet, use your hub’s network name and password.

You'll find them on the WiFi details card and on the back of your hub.

Use your device's camera to scan the QR code on the back or bottom of your hub or router to quickly connect.

If your device supports WPS, press the WPS button on the back of the hub.

Your hub lights

The lights will tell you if your hub is starting up correctly when you first switch it on and also let you know if there are any problems later on. Find out what the lights on your EE Smart Hub mean.
