I have a problem with my Battery Back Up Unit (BBU)

Your Smart Hub must have power to make calls using Digital Home Phone. You can buy a Battery Back Up Unit (BBU) to give at least an hour of service if there's a power cut.

Battery Back Up unit lights

To test the BBU for your Digital Home Phone turn off your hub at the mains socket. If the blue light stays on it means your Battery Back Up unit is working.

Don't forget to turn the power back on again. We recommend you do this once a month.

The Battery Back Up unit has been silenced. Press and hold the 'Alarm Silence' button for 15 seconds until you hear 2 beeps to turn the volume on or off.

The light will stay lit to confirm the change. This will silence the alarm completely until you press and hold the 'Alarm Silence' button for another 15 seconds.

Indicator: Battery. Red light

The battery needs to be replaced. The alarm will beep once every 15 minutes. You'll also see this light when the battery's missing.

Battery Back Up Unit beeping

If your Battery Back Up Unit starts to beep, check it hasn't been disconnected from the mains power by accident. If it continues to beep and you also have a red light, contact us so we can send out a replacement.

If it starts to beep during a power cut, you'll still have at least an hour to make calls.
