Check your handset

Digital Home Phone

  1. Read what the error or alert message on your home phone screen means.
If your phone shows a ‘Register the handset to the Hub’ message, pair it with your hub (this is your router) by:

    1. Pressing OK on the handset.
    2. Pressing the WPS button on the side of your hub (you have 2 minutes to register the handset after pressing the WPS button).

The handset will confirm when it’s registered.
  2. Check you’re close enough to the hub. You’ll get a ‘No link to the Hub’ message if you’re too far away.
The handset will check every 60 seconds until its back in range.
  3. If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains and wait 1 minute before turning it back on.

Other cordless handsets

  1. Use a cordless handset with Digital Home Phone by connecting the base unit to the green phone socket on the back of the hub. Check that the phone is plugged in correctly.
  2. If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains and wait 1 minute before turning it back on.

Phones with a cord

  1. Make sure your phone is plugged into the phone port on the back of the hub.
  2. If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains and wait 1 minute before turning it back on.

Settings and set-up

  1. Check the volume level on your handset. If the ringtone has been turned off, you’ll see a musical note symbol with a line through it.
Press the Vol+ button to increase the ringtone volume.
  2. You might have call barring turned on. Go to the Calling Features option and select Call Barring.
    Select Check Status.
Call *#34# if you’re using a different handset to the Digital Home Phone.
  3. You can manage all of your Digital Home Phone settings using the EE app. You'll find it under 'Plans and subscriptions'.
