Need to know
Phones bought before 2015 may not ring while connected to a Digital Home Phone Adapter. If you are experiencing this, call us on 150 from your EE mobile or 0330 123 1105 from any other phone and we'll supply a free microfilter that will enable your phone to ring.
Digital Home Phone handset
- Read the error or alert message on your Digital Home Phone screen.
- If it's showing a ‘Register the handset to the hub’ message, pair it with your hub (this is your router) by:Pressing OK on the handset.Pressing the WPS button on the side of your hub
(you have 2 minutes to register the handset after pressing the WPS button)The handset will confirm when it’s registered.
- If you get a ‘No link to the hub’ message, you’re not close enough to your hub. The handset will check every 60 seconds until it's back in range.
- If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains, wait 1 minute and turn it on.
Other cordless handsets
- Use a cordless handset with your Digital Home Phone service by connecting the base unit to the green phone socket on the back of your hub. Check that the handset base station is plugged into the hub and the mains power.
- If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains, wait 1 minute and turn it on.
Other phones with a cord
- Ensure your phone is plugged into the green phone port on the back of the hub or a Digital Home Phone Adapter.
- If you hear a message when trying to make a call, turn off your hub at the mains, wait 1 minute and turn it on.
Digital Home Phone service settings and set-up
- Check the volume level on your handset. If the ringtone has been turned off, you’ll see a musical note symbol with a line through it. Press the Vol+ button to increase the ringtone volume.
- You might have Call Barring turned on.
Go to the Calling Features option on your handset
select Call Barring.select Check Status.call *#34# if you’re not using a Digital Home Phone handset. - To manage all of your Digital Home Phone settings using the EE app. You'll find it under Manage. Download or open the EE app.
Check your Digital Home Phone Adapter
If you're using a Digital Home Phone Adapter, check that it is registered with your Hub - the green light on the adapter will be flashing green if it isn't. Follow the steps to set up your Digital Home Phone Adapter.

Please contact us if your Digital Home Phone service is not ringing for incoming calls or if you can't make outgoing calls.
