Verified ID

This article explains what a Verified ID is, how to get one and what to do if you have any difficulties.

About your Verified ID

A Verified ID will help you prove your age and identity when ordering products or services from EE.

ID verification can only be done in the EE app with valid, original documents. Your name and date of birth must match your EE ID. If you're over 18 and want to get your EE ID verified, make sure you've got your passport or driving licence ready.

  1. Open the EE app.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Go to Verified ID.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions.

You'll be asked to upload an image of your passport or driving licence and scan your face.

It usually takes a few minutes to process your details, but it can take longer to complete some of the checks.

Need to know

  • Your documents must be in date with all details visible.
  • Your details must be the same on your documents and your EE ID.
  • The image you upload must be clear.
  • You must be in a clear, well-lit area when you scan your face.

Use the EE app to get your Verified ID

Problems with your Verified ID

If the details on your document don’t fully match our records, you may be asked to insert a passcode. We’ll send the passcode to the email address linked to your EE ID. If it doesn’t work, wait a few hours and try again.

Please make sure you've followed all of the instructions in the app and:

  • you've checked the dates on your documents
  • your documents can be seen fully, including the edges
  • your documents match your EE ID
  • you're in a well-lit area when your face is scanned
  • the image you upload is clear

Due to different privacy policies, you can’t get verified when in the USA.

Your data

You can delete your Verified ID from the app at any time.

Your data is safe with us. You can manage it anytime in the EE app. For more information view our privacy policy.
