This article explains what Verified ID is, how to get one, how to use one, and what to do if you have any difficulties.

About your Verified ID

A Verified ID will help you prove your age and identity when ordering products or services from EE. 

Due to different privacy policies, you can’t get verified when in the USA.

Use the EE app to get your Verified ID

  1. Download the EE app.
  2. Open the EE app.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. Go to Verified ID.
  5. Tap on Get Verified.
  6. Follow the in-app instructions.

We will ask you to upload a photo of your passport or driving licence and scan your face.

It usually takes a few minutes to process your details, but it can take longer to complete some of the checks. 

Essential Information

  • If you're over 18 and want to get your EE ID verified, make sure you've got your passport or driving licence ready.
  • ID verification can only be done in the EE app with valid, original documents.
  • Your documents must be in date with all details visible.
  • Your details, such as name and date of birth, must be the same on your documents and your EE ID.
  • The image you upload must be clear.
  • You must be in a clear space and a well-lit area when you scan your face.

Use your Verified ID in EE stores

Once you have been verified on the EE app, you can use Verified ID in our EE stores any time you visit. 

This will allow us to speed up any anti-fraud checks we need to carry out. 

You won’t need to share any physical ID document with our EE Guides in-store, which means no one else can complete the process on your behalf.

You can still bring your valid ID document in our EE stores and one of our Guides will help you to go through the full document and facial verification.  

To find your closest EE store, use our EE Store Finder.

  1. When you need to share your ID with the EE Guide, open the EE app.
  2. Go to ID and Manage Verified ID.
  3. When both you and the EE guide are ready, just follow the instructions on the EE app and take a quick scan of your face.
  4. We’ll check it matches our records.
  5. We will generate a QR code for your EE guide to scan and confirm your details.

Problems with your Verified ID

If the details on your document don’t match our records, you may be asked to enter a passcode. We’ll send the passcode to the email address linked to your EE ID. If it doesn’t work, wait a few hours and try again.

Please make sure you've followed all of the instructions in the app and:

  • your documents can be seen fully, including the edges
  • your documents match your EE ID
  • you're in a well-lit area when your face is scanned

Due to different privacy policies, you can’t get verified when in the USA.

Your data

Your data is safe with us. You can manage and delete your Verified ID from the app at any time.
