Using EE WiFi

About EE WiFi

WiFi is a wireless technology that allows you to connect to a network, generally the internet. Usually, you’ll need to be near a WiFi router or WiFi hotspot to connect.

4GEE WiFi uses EE's mobile phone network to connect you to the internet wherever you have EE mobile coverage.

How to use WiFi at home

Using your phone to browse the internet at home on your own WiFi will come out of your monthly home internet allowance. Using WiFi on the move won't affect your monthly data allowance.

  • first, turn on WiFi on your mobile phone, laptop or tablet – go to Settings > WiFi
  • choose the WiFi network name that matches your home internet connection
  • you may have to type in a password the first time you connect
  • after that, your mobile phone, laptop or tablet will remember the password and log in automatically

Using WiFi when you're out and about

  • first, turn on WiFi on your mobile phone, laptop or tablet – go to Settings > WiFi
  • choose from the list of available WiFi networks – some will be free and open but some may be locked, requiring a password and possibly payment
  • hotels, cafés and other public places will usually give you their password for free if you ask
  • if you need to pay for their WiFi, they'll also give you details of how to do this
