Trade in your old phone to get cash or money off a new EE plan. This page explains how to trade in your phone, what to do if something does not go to plan, and how to get extra support.

Trade in your old phone

You can trade in your old phone with EE in three steps.

  1. Go to the EE Trade-In site and tell us about your phone and its condition.
    Get a quote.
  2. Send your phone or visit your nearest EE store.
    Choose to send your phone using the prepaid envelope we post to you or take it to an EE store.
  3. Get paid.
    Once we receive and check your phone, we will pay the agreed amount into your bank account or apply it as credit, depending on how you traded in.

Get ready to trade in

Before you send your phone, you will need:

  • The phone model or IMEI number,  a unique identifier for your phone. You can find it by dialling *#06#.
  • Details about the phone’s condition, including any damage.
  • If you are using an Apple phone, you must turn off Find My iPhone before sending it..

Who can trade in a phone

You can trade in a phone if:

  • You recently joined EE and still have a phone from another network.
  • You upgraded and have an old phone.
  • You have an unused phone from any network.

Sending your phone

Send your phone using the prepaid envelope we provide or hand it in at an EE store. Make sure your phone is protected to avoid damage in transit.

When you will get paid

If your phone matches the original quote, payment is usually processed within 3 working days of receipt.

If the phone is damaged and the quote changes, payment can take up to six working days.

If something goes wrong

If you miss the return deadline

Contact us as soon as possible so we can explain your options.

If your phone is damaged

We will send you a revised quote by text message or email. You have 3 working days to let us know if you are not happy with it.

If the phone model is different

We will pay the value listed on our site for the model you sent.

If your phone is lost or damaged in the post

You are responsible for protecting your phone while it is in the prepaid envelope. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.
