What you need to upgrade early
You’ll have to pay an early upgrade fee. Your early upgrade fee will depend on how much time is left on your plan.
You can’t upgrade early if you’re a mobile broadband or business customer.
You need to be:
- on an eligible pay monthly plan with EE
- six months or more into your contract
- have more than 30 days until your current plan ends
Upgrade Anytime
Alternatively, if you're eligible for Upgrade Anytime, you can get a new phone just 15 days after starting a new plan.

Device credit agreement
If you have a device credit agreement, you can upgrade your phone from day 15 of a new plan. You’ll need to pay off the remaining balance.
How can I upgrade early?
To upgrade early you can:
- contact us from any phone
- pop in to your local EE store
Need to know
If there’s any outstanding debt on your account, you’ll need to pay it off before upgrading.
