Check if you can upgrade your phone

You can check if you’re eligible to upgrade your EE phone in a few quick ways. This guide shows how to get started, what to do if you’re not eligible yet, and where to get extra help.

How to check your upgrade status

In the EE app. This is the quickest way to check.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Select Manage.
  3. Select Mobiles and SIMs.
  4. Choose the phone you want to check.
  5. Review your upgrade options and follow the on‑screen steps to upgrade.
  6. If you’re eligible, you can choose a new phone and plan, or a plan only. You may also be able to trade in your current phone for money off your upgrade.

Online

  1. Log in to your EE account.
  2. Go to Upgrade.
  3. We’ll tell you if you can upgrade and show your available options.
    We'll let you know if you can upgrade on that page.
    Also, you can review your current plan details by selecting more info in the coloured upgrade box on the page.
  4. if you want to proceed, select your upgrade option and follow the steps onscreen. You'll be able to trade in your device for money off your upgrade as part of that process.

By text message

Text UP to 150 from your EE mobile.

We’ll send you a reply with your upgrade status and a link if you’re eligible.

 

If you cannot complete these steps

If the app or website is not working, or you cannot log in, you can contact us for help with checking your upgrade options.

When You Can Upgrade

You may be able to upgrade:

  • Within the last 30 days of your plan, with no early upgrade cost.
  • Within the last 100 days of your plan, if your new plan costs more than your current one.
  • From day 15 of a new device credit plan, if you pay off any remaining device balance.

Your eligibility depends on your plan and account status.

 

If you’ve already upgraded and changed your mind

You can cancel your upgrade within 14 days unless you’ve traded in your phone.

To cancel, complete the Returns form within 14 days.
