What are these phone numbers on my bill I don't recognise?

This article helps you to check call records for any numbers or charges you haven't expected, manage your account, and avoid unexpected charges.

Think you’ve been charged for a call you didn’t make? It’s worth checking the destination of the number again, and asking if someone else in your home has made the call. Especially if the same number has appeared before.

You could also try running a Google search on the number you don't recognise. You may find out whose number it is.

There's a National Numbering Plan in the UK that shows what numbers are used by different types of service. It also gives you an idea of how much it costs to call those numbers. The table below shows the major categories of numbers.

You can get more detailed information about the price of calling at https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/charges-for-calling-non-geographic-numbers.

Checking for numbers you don't recognise

If you see some numbers that you don’t recognise, these could be related to:

  • third-party services
  • roaming
  • international calls, look for a country code i.e. +1 for the US or Canada
  • premium numbers, such as 09, 084 or 087

You can look through your call records on your phone to help jog your memory, or search for them in the EE app or online.

Viewing your call records:

  • download and open the EE App
  • go to Manage
  • select the account you want to review
  • select See your full mobile bill
  • select See charges by number

Or you can also view your account details online:

  • log in to EE online
  • select Bills & payments
  • select See your full mobile bill
  • select See charges by number
