Reconnect devices to a new EE hub

If you changed your broadband plan and we upgraded you to our EE Smart Hub (2023), you’ll need to reconnect your devices to get back online.

Change your hub’s WiFi network and password using the EE app

If you change your new hub's WiFi network name and password to match your old details, your devices should automatically connect. So you won't have to change the details on all your devices.

You’ll need to use the right login for your old hub though. So if you changed your hub name or password in the past, use the newest login details.

  1. Open the EE app and select WiFi Controls.
  2. On the dashboard click the Smart Hub tile.
  3. In the top right-hand corner, tap the three dots.
  4. Select Change WiFi settings.
  5. Type the WiFi network name and password of your previous hub or whatever your previous network details were.
  6. Press Save.
  7. Make sure you note down what you have changed your network name and password to and keep it safe.

Change your router’s WiFi network and password without the EE app

  1. Make sure you’re connected to your new router.
  2. Go to the browser address bar and type 192.168.1.254
  3. The Hub Manager screen will open, press Advanced Settings then Advanced Wireless.
  4. Enter your admin password, which you’ll find on the back of the new router.
  5. Enter your old router’s Network name and Security Password, or whatever your previous network details were.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Make sure you note down what you have changed your network name and password to and keep it safe.

Reconnect existing devices

When you’ve changed your new login to match the old details, some old devices might not automatically reconnect. So you’ll need to enter the details by hand using your old network name and password. If you have problems connecting your devices go to.
