The following describes what the lights mean, after the Smart WiFi device has started-up, use the instructions to try to fix the problem.

  • Blue - Your Smart WiFi is all connected. Good WiFi or Ethernet connection.
  • Red - There’s a problem. Turn your Smart Hub and Smart WiFi device off and on again. If the light still doesn’t turn blue, use a paper clip or pen to press the Smart WiFi device’s ‘factory reset’ button.
  • Purple - Your device is starting up. It takes roughly a minute to fully turn on.
  • Orange - Smart WiFi is working okay. Try moving it closer to the hub or one of the other Smart WiFi devices.
  • Flashing red - Your Smart WiFi is not connected to your Smart Hub. Connect using WPS or ethernet cable.
  • Flashing blue - The Smart WiFi device is connecting. WPS is on and connecting to your hub or device, this could take a couple of minutes.
  • WPS - If it’s flashing blue, it’s waiting for you to press the WPS button on your computer or device. If it’s flashing red, it didn’t connect – give it a couple of minutes and try again.

Connect a Smart WiFi device to your Smart Hub

The best way to connect your Smart Hub (2023) and Smart WiFi device is to follow the instructions on the EE app:

Smart WiFi customers can get up to 2 extra devices if needed. Call us to see if another device will benefit you.

EE Home app

If you have a different Smart Hub, you'll need to download the EE Home app. This is where you can set up and manage your Smart WiFi.

Change settings using the EE app

Change the brightness of the lights on your Smart WiFi device using the EE app. Select the device shown under ‘Your Smart WiFi devices’ to see the option.

Other settings you can adjust or create using the app:

  • parental controls
  • device groups
  • schedules to pause or start WiFi
